Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) - Nanaimo (Central)

Provides same-day treatment of non-emergency injuries and illnesses when patients are unable to see a family doctor or care provider at your regular or walk-in clinic.
The Central Nanaimo UPCC is for people who need non-emergency medical care within 12 - 24 hours, including ailments such as:
  • Cough and colds
  • Fever
  • Cuts, wounds or skin conditions, rashes
  • Chest, ear or bladder infections
  • Back pain
  • Sprains and strains
  • Headaches
  • Minor injuries


The UPCC is not a replacement for routine care from a family physician such as chronic disease management, prescription renewals, referrals, completion of medical forms, such as for Persons with Disability (PWD), or provision of doctors' notes. This clinic does not provide second opinions for ongoing issues. If you are unsure of the type of care you require, call 8-1-1 to speak with a nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
